After weighing 118.4 pounds on his first try and then, immediately thereafter, 118.2 (fully stripped with Ghanaian flag in front of him), Joseph King Kong Agbeko returned to the digital scale (with shirt on) approximately 45 minutes later and made 118 for his IBF title defense tomorrow/Saturday, Aug. 13, against undefeated Abner Mares in The Bantamweight Tournament Final: Winner Takes All live on SHOWTIME®(10 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast).

003: Mares, whose WBC Silver belt will also be on the line in what will be an action-packed 12-round fight at The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, weighed 117 1/2 pounds on his first attempt Friday at The Hard Rock.

Boxing fans in England just found out that Sky Sports is is dropping out of the boxing pay-per-view fights. Some fans took to Facebook to express their feelings, like MUSHOOD SHEIKH and KASH MAN had a message to David Haye.

Robbie Keane Closes in on $9 million LA Galaxy Contract

Tottenham are set to export more than riots with the news that the Republic of Ireland’s all-time leading goalscorer Robbie Keane is nearing agreement on terms for a move to the MLS with the LA Galaxy.

Keane is the current captain of the Irish national team, for whom he has amassed a colossal 108 caps and 51 goals. Keane would leave Tottenham as the ninth highest goalscorer in the club’s history as well as the 10th highest goalscorer in English Premier League history. His 123 goals in the English top flight came in a career that began with then Championship side Wolves before successive moves to Coventry City, Inter Milan in Italy’s Serie A, back to England with Leeds United, Tottenham, Liverpool, up north to Scotland with Celtic (on loan) and most recently to recently relegated West Ham United (also on loan).

Keane is best perhaps best known for his trademark goal celebration & fiery temperament, his two spells at Tottenham (punctuated with an ill-fated big money switch to Premiership rivals Liverpool) brought with them startlingly differing levels of success. During his first spell Keane was a pivotal figure in Spurs’ attack and playing alongside the likes of Berbatov & Jermaine Defoe was a key figure in Tottenham’s resurgence as a force within the English game. His second spell was less fruitful after losing favor with Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp & he was farmed out on loan twice in an attempt to get regular first team football.

Keane became Ireland’s all-time leading goalscorer as long ago as 2004 and was handed the national team’s captain’s armband in 2006. MLS watches might most recently have seen him in action during Paul Scholes’ testimonial match against the New York Cosmos.

Mares & Agbeko In Las Vegas Ready For Their Fight

Abner Mares (28-2 with 22 KO’s) and Joseph Agbeko ( 21-0-1 with 13 KO’s) are getting ready for a tough fight on Saturday, August 13. It’s part of “The Bantamweight Tournament Final: Winner Takes All live on SHOWTIME ” (10 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast).
