There has been a lot of controversy and buzz about the recent statements of some Filipino physicians that have claimed that Manny is displaying some sign of early Parkinson’s disease.
“They based it on eyeballing. It’s ludicrous,” said Arum.
Yes, as most people agree, this was a very bold statement on such a sensitive issue without any proper examination. I don’t think I have ever heard of anyone diagnosing anything of such significance via some abstract visual occurrences.
“When I talk to Manny, I’ll recommend that he gets a thorough checkup at the Lou Ruvo Clinic’s brain center. They’re the best in the world. My wife is on the board of directors, and I think that for those of us who realize that boxing is just a way-stop for Manny Pacquiao’s life and career, that it pays to be over-cautious,” concluded Arum.
Diagnosing any kind of brain related disorder is an ordeal, with numerous tests and screening involved. I think that it would be wise for Manny to take Arum up on his offer and get himself evaluated by a team of leading specialists. I’m sure that getting a clean bill of health from a respected medical center will put his and his family’s minds at ease.
