Boxing Movie: Real Steel Beats Rocky IV Debut

It looks like boxing robots are a hit. Hugh Jackman’s “Real Steel” is the number one champion at the box office this weekend. The robots took in $27.3 million in the U.S and an additional $22.1 million overseas, with a worldwide total of $44.9 million. The science- fiction movie is set in 2020, when robot fighters replace humans. Real Steel beat Rocky IV’s $20 million debut in 1985.

Sugar Ray Leonard choreographed the fight scenes.
