Donaire: Guest of Honor at Philippines Consulate in NY

World Bantamweight Champion and Top-Five pound for pound fighter NONITO “The Filipino Flash” DONAIRE (26-1, 18 KOs), of San Leandro, Calif. by way of General Santos City, Philippines, will be the guest of honor at a diplomatic reception at the Philippines Consulate in New York (556 5th Ave., New York, NY 10036), Today!  Wednesday, October 19, beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET.  Nonito’s host will be The Honorable Mario Lopez de Leon, Jr.,Consul General of The Republic of The Philippines in New York. The reception will be open to media.

Joining Donaire, will be Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum, trainer Robert Garcia and manager Cameron Dunkin. Donaire will be making his New York debut, defending his title against OMAR “El Huracán” NARVAEZ (35-0-2, 23 KOs), of Chubut, Argentina, Saturday, October 22, in the Theater at Madison Square Garden, the Mecca of Boxing.
