Juan Manuel Marquez Undeserved 7/1 Underdog at Bookmakers

Juan Manuel Marquez Offers Superb Value at Bookies

JM Marquez is a 7/1 (+700) underdog with many of the major online bookmakers. Whilst I’m still predicting a Pacquiao victory, I certainly give the Mexican icon more than the 12.5% chance that these odds would imply. There remains enough evidence from the two fighters previous 24 rounds of combat to suggest that Marquez is in with at least twice that likelihood of having his hand raised.

This would imply a Marquez win would be almost as big of an upset as Evander Holyfield’s 1996 win over Mike Tyson – on offer before fight time at 8/1 (+800) – was fifteen years ago. Looking around SkyBET have outdone themselves offering 125/1 (+12,500)on a Marquez KO victory in every round & 16/1 (+1,600) on a Marquez victory via the judges’ scorecards. In short, JMM should, on recent history & form enter this bout as the underdog but hardly such a heavy one. The same UK based bookmakers, SkyBET, are offering a Pacquiao KO win at between 14/1 (+1,500)& 25/1 (+2,500)per round with (my prediction, of) a Pacquiao win by decision on at 9/4 (+325).

With the action so heavily distorted in the Pacman’s favor though I will be sitting this one out from a wagering standpoint. If you are having a flutter I wish you the best of luck!
