LOS ANGELES, August 5 – Later this month, two of boxing’s brightest young stars, Marcos “El Chino” Maidana and Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero will face off for the WBA Super Lightweight World title on August 27 at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. in a fight televised on HBO’s Boxing After Dark. It is one of the most highly-anticipated fights of the year, with the winner likely being propelled onto the sport’s list of best pound for pound fighters. Therefore, there’s no better time to get ready for their upcoming fight than tonight, Friday, August 5 when TeleFutura’s “Sólo Boxeo Tecate Classics” revisits pivotal fights from the careers of both men.

In this week’s main event, TeleFutura will re-air Guerrero’s July 31, 2010 fight against Cuban great Joel “El Cepillo” Casamayor, in which Guerrero was forced to rise from the deck to in order to defeat the former world champion in an intriguing 10-round fight. The co-feature with a look back at Maidana’s March 27, 2010 clash against Victor “Mermelada” Cayo, when the power punching Argentine scored devastating sixth round knockout over previously unbeaten Cayo.


The special presentation of “Sólo Boxeo Tecate” is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate and AT&T and will air on TeleFutura at 11:30pm ET / PT (10:30pm CT).
