Michael Koncz Suggests Mayweather Jr. vs. Pacuqiao Is Unlikely

Remember that fight that people have been talking about forever, the one where Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. step inside the ring to face each other? Well apparently, Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz suggested that this fight will likely remain a dream.

“I personally do not see the fight between Floyd and Manny happening. If we are not able to win this fight with Rios impressively than yes, it will be time to sit with Manny to discuss hanging up the gloves,” stated Koncz.

Wait a second; are they already talking Pacquiao’s retirement? I don’t know what the deal is, but if Pacquiao defeats Rios, and I believe he will make a short night of it, his stock will once again go sky high, and a fight against Mayweather Jr. will once again be on top of everyone’s mind.

Pacquiao’s loss to Marquez forced Manny off the radar for Mayweather Jr., but a solid victory will place him back where he belongs: on Floyd’s negations table. If Mayweather Jr. is planning on retiring after his contract with Showtime is done, he better hope that Manny stays afloat for a while, so that his final night could be the biggest fight and payday in boxing history.
