Miami, FL November 9th – Tr3s: MTV, Música y Más and the Pan American Health and Education Foundation (PAHEF) announce the premiere of “Empuje”, a new docu-series that follows the mentoring exercise of three young Latinos as they struggle to improve their health and wellness regiment together with celebrated Latino athletes. Narrated by Daisy Fuentes, each half-hour episode captures the grueling yet inspirational transformation alongside the PROs including FC Barcelona player Gerard Piqué, Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo, and black belt guru and celebrity personal trainer Ary Nuñez. “Empuje” premieres every Sunday at 11a.m., starting November 11th on the bilingual/bicultural network, Tr3s.

“This documentary experience validates and honors great parents, committed mentors, responsible peers, brave storytelling and most of all  tells the story that anything is possible.  Push your dreams; the wildest thing that can happen is that they do come true!” said Nuñez. “I SAY I DO I AM!” she added.
“I’ve always been a strong believer and advocate of ‘education through athletics’ and this  unique opportunity allowed me to bring that concept to life, while making an impact on the health and wellness of an amazing young man ,” said Cejudo. “I hope his story will inspire other young Latinos to live a healthy and happier life!”
“This experience took me back to my youth and reminded me of the mentors that kept me on track growing up. I can only hope that my leadership and guidance is as influential, and empowers young people to work harder, reach higher and stay committed to achieving their health and wellness goals,” said Piqué.
The series matches each professional athlete PRO to a devoted young Latino in a field or organization that the PRO has successfully achieved to instruct and teach through workshops, sharing tips and advice on how to successfully reach their health and wellness goals, revealing sometimes unexpected qualities of their personalities along the way.
The mentees include a high-school wrestler and football player, Mark aka “Tank,” who struggles to become a better athlete by overhauling his poor eating habits, a go-getter named Genny who has a busy schedule that doesn’t include exercise or eating right, and father-to-be, Juan who recently emigrated from Mexico to Spain in search of a better life. With the help of the PROs, these Latino youth will learn how to embrace change and take an active role in improving their own health and the health of those around them.
