Ricky Hatton Looking To Come Back With A Huge Event

Like a snowball going down a steep snowy hill and becoming larger as it rolls, what began as distant rumors of Ricky Hatton’s comeback, have now slowly transitioned into a fact.

In a recent article posted in the Manchester Evening News, it states that not only is Hatton in direct negotiations for a fight this year, but it’s looking like they want to build up the event by creating a blockbuster event altogether:

“Ricky Hatton is planning a mega show for his proposed comeback at the Manchester Arena. The Hitman is in discussions over a sensational return to the ring before the end of the year. The bill would include the WBA super bantamweight rematch between Scott Quigg and Rendall Munroe, with Martin Murray also expected to feature on the undercard in what could also be a world title clash. Other members of Hatton’s star-studded stable, including Anthony Crolla, are also hoping to be involved in what is sure to be a sell-out show.”

I don’t know about you, but I believe that this is a done deal. Hatton in shape and in the gym spells only one thing: comeback with intent to impress. There is a very powerful force driving Hatton right now, a force which is more influential than money, and more addicting than most things in life: the crowd effect.

Fame is not something that is easy to walk away from. The arenas full of people, the thundering cheering and the never-ending attention from the fans keep the fire burning hot. Thus Hatton, just like many other champions that have cut their retirement short, is lacking this part of his life. Now that he looks fitter than we have seen him in a very long time, maybe there is hope that he will once again fight for a world title.
