EsNewsReporting caught up with Robert Garcia about the first episode of HBO 24/7, Mayweather vs Ortiz. In it, Garica’s brother Danny, Victor Ortiz’s trainer, says he loves his brother Robert.

“I’m sure he does dude, he’s my brother. I gotta say the same thing. He questions if I do, he should know better. I love him too,” said Robert.

“We’ve had our differences lately , we have our reasons why we’re upset. I know he knows the reasons, but we’ll squash everything,” Robert went on to tell us.

Garcia also talked about all of the times his older brother Danny protected him when the two were growing up. Garcia brought up several examples. “Danny wasn’t only there to protect me but my whole family,” he said.

But in the meantime, Garcia said, right now they’re both focusing on their jobs and their fighters, but maybe one day after they’re done with their careers, everything will be back to normal. “I’m sure everything will be good,” Robert said.

  1. Hopefully they’ll make amends. Life’s too short to let petty crap cost you valuable and irreplaceable time with your family.

  2. Bygones should be bygones. Family is always the first. If your brother is wanted by the FBI? What do you do? Call the FBI, after you help your brother not before. Will you keep it a secret from your children, that there uncle is a wanted man?

Maybe idealogy could be different. But respect should and foremost be there.

  3. Or maybe they are just acting this all out for hype and ratings like Floyd and his dad hehe.

Obviously no. Floyd’s is all an act. He even confessed his appearances his all an act and show for boxing. Garcia’s are real, and won’t dramatize it for hype or to make some more cash by splashing the tabloid news like the National Enquirer.
