Former Pacquiao Sparring On Defamation Case

It looks like the defamation settlement case between Manny Pacquiao and boxing promoters Richard Schaefer and Oscar De La Hoya could finally restore the relations between Golden Boy and Top Rank. In 2009, Pacquiao filed a lawsuit against Floyd Mayweather Jr, his father, and named Schaefer and De La Hoya in it. Pacquiao said they defamed him when they alleged he used steroids. However, on Tuesday, Pacquiao settled the lawsuit with Schaefer and De La Hoya, but not with Mayweather.  No word on the conditions of the settlement.

“Manny Pacquiao is one of the greatest fighters of all time, and we apologize if anyone construed our prior remarks as in any way claiming or even suggesting that Manny uses or has used performance enhancing drugs,” said Schaefer and De  La Hoya.

In this EsNewsReporting video we talk to Jorge Diaz, Pacquiao’s former sparring partner.
