Kobe Bryant’s Trainer Offers Pacquiao Assistance: “I can make Manny 10 times better than Marquez in terms of conditioning.”

We all know that Kobe Bryant is a big Manny Pacquiao fan, and of course Manny being a basketball enthusiast that he is, returns that feeling towards Bryant.

Well maybe soon, they will have a team member in common, as Tim Grover, a trainer who has trainedKobeas well as Michael Jordan and Dwayne Wayde , has offered his help to Pacquao in an effort to help Manny improve his performance.

“I have some ideas on how I might be able to help Manny. If Manny wants, I could go through (trainer) Freddie or Alex, or both. My intention is not to interfere with any conditioning program Manny is now doing. I’m not looking to displace anyone. I’m not after a ringside seat or a place in Manny’s corner. All I want to do is to enhance Manny’s performance by working within his system. I’m ready to propose a program for Manny and if he and his team like it, we can go ahead. I’m putting my reputation on the line. I saw how Marquez put on a lot of muscle mass without gaining too much weight. You can do that with a training program. But I can guarantee that I can make Manny 10 times better than Marquez in terms of conditioning,” Grover said.

This is indeed an interesting proposal. Of course Team Pacquiao would not be happy if Manny decided to let Grover interfere, as it would instantly devaluate whatever they have planned for the Filipino boxer. On the other hand, Grover could be of great value with his vast experience and expertise.

The only thing is, Manny has absolutely no problems as far as conditioning goes. At least none that were evident in any of this fight against Marquez. Grover proposes that he could make him 10 times better as far as conditioning as concerned, but the challenges that Pacquiao faced against Marquez were not of conditioning nature.

Grover goes on to say that the only reason he is offering help is because of Bryant and what he was able to do for him:

“Kobe’s a huge Manny fan and I wouldn’t be reaching out to Manny ifKobedidn’t know it…. I’m reaching out to only Manny, nobody else, because likeKobe, I want Manny to come back and be successful. This is just for his next fight. It’s not as if I’ll be working with Manny nine months in a year. I’m sure we can work out a schedule that will be beneficial to both of us without cutting corners.”

Of all the reasons that Grover could be beneficial to Pacquiao, confidence would be the most crucial one. Maybe after his brutal loss to Marquez, a new face with a new promise and the credentials to back that promise up is just what Manny needs to get back t and train harder than ever before.

Kobe Bryant: “Who’ll win? Manny for sure.”

In a recent interview, Kobe Bryant had stated that he is confident that Manny Pacquiao will this time beat Juan Manuel Marquez convincingly, and fully supports his decision to accept this challenge:

“Manny wants to prove once and for all that he’s better than Marquez. Manny’s got nothing to prove against Bradley. He lost the decision but everyone knows he won the fight. I’m a huge Manny fan. If I’m not playing the night he fights (Juan Manuel) Marquez, I’ll be there to watch him. Who’ll win? Manny for sure.”

I wish that the rest of us could be as confident as Bryant is in this particular scenario. While it is true that Pacquiao won his fight against Bradley, I don’t think that anyone on this planet can safely say that Pacquiao will no doubt come out a winner against Marquez. Looking at their fight history, this should once again turn out to be a war inside the ring, and betting on a winner is truly a gamble when these two fight.

The bigger and stronger looking Marquez might have enough power behind his punch to possibly send Pacquiao to the canvas. For me, the potential of this fight went from a waste of time, to a very exciting and absolutely unpredictable future.

Kobe Bryant Scores 68 Points in 15 Min in Charity Games

NBA star Kobe Bryant is in China where he scores 68 points in 15 min in a charity games. Too bad they didn’t let him play 30 min he’d go for 136 points…

Courtesy of Bryant’s Facebook page: “We played two 15 min halves with a running clock. I watched from the bench for the first half. We were trailing by 9 when I was notified that fans via text can choose a team to add 20 additional points to their tally!!! We were now down 29!! I wanted to play it cool but what the heck, the place was packed with fans who’d sang an early happy birthday to me and really wanted to watch me go to work.

“My teammates were down. They are all singers/actors and do not play ball much AT ALL, but they are very successful at what they do hence they are VERY competitive. They asked if I could bring them back in the second half..

“I didn’t want to disappoint them or the fans that had paid their hard earned money for a show so I took the challenge of really using the second half as a training session for my stamina. I ran and ran and ran.

“I wound up scoring 68 in the 2nd and we won. Like I said, they are not basketball players by any stretch of the imagination. I was just having fun with all of them and loved hearing the crowd enjoy the show we put on.”
