Paul Mccloskey vs Breidis Prescott

Paul Mccloskey will fight Breidis Prescott on September 10th at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast in the UK. It’s an official WBA Eliminator. Both  Mccloskey and Prescott are fighters who went up against boxing champion Amir Khan, Paul lost, while Breidis won. Khan himself will enter the ring July 23 to fight Zab Judah, and Khan has told EsNewsReporting that he would love a rematch with Presscott.




Macklin vs Grevor Set To Fight Under Khan vs McCloskey Undercard

On Saturday, April 16, Amir “King” Khan will defend his WBA Super Lightweight World Title against European champ Paul McCloskey. The two will fight at the M.E.N Arena in the U.K.  The fight will air like on Sky Box Office in the U.K. and HBO in the America.

In the undercard, Hatton Promotions in association with Khan Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions will also feature some of British boxing’s hottest prospects including world title contender and European Middleweight Champion Matthew Macklin vs German Khoren Gevor, British Welterweight Champion Craig Watson who will defend his belt against Lee “Lights Out” Purdy and rising star Scott Quigg lined up to face tough Andrei Isaeu.

Amir Khan Talks McCloskey, Maidana, Critics

WBA junior welterweight (140 pounds)  Amir Khan of England will meet Northern Ireland’s unbeaten southpaw Paul McCloskey  in an HBO televised clash from the MEN Arena on April 16 in England.

In this video we talk to 24-year-old Khan (24-1, 17 KOs) about 31-year-old McCloskey (22-0, 12 knockouts)  as well as his Dec. 11 unanimous decision victory over hard-punching, WBA interim champion Marcos Maidana (29-2, 27 KOs) of Argentina. A fight which the Boxing Writers Association chose as Fight of the Year.


Amir Khan Joins Manny Pacquiao in the Philippines

Team Pacquiao is coming together in the Philippines. Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddy roach arrived in the Philippines on Monday to get ready for the big showdown on May 7th against Shane Mosley.  Amir Khan who is training for his fight in England on April 16th is also there.  Roach is also Khan’s trainer.  Monday, Khan tweeted “Landed in Philippines. 17 hour flight.” Shawn Porter and David Rodela will be Pacquiao’s sparring partners.  Rodela tells EsNewsReporting “I’m there just to push him, give him hell. ”

EsNewsReporting talked to Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) while he was in Los Angeles and asked how he plans to outbox Paul McCloskey (22-0, 12 KO’s).  ” I feel good, I’m working with a new strength conditioner, Michael Vale,  ” said Khan.   “He’s unbeaten, 22-0, I want to take that “0” off of his record,” added Khan about McCloskey.
