Wladimir Klitschko: I Will Fight Until Lacking Health Or Motivation

Wladimir Klitschko is already talking about his next fight, but is not yet sure the nature of his opponent and whether the fight will be a mandatory defense,

“I am not sure if my next fight will be a mandatory or a voluntary defense. The politics of the boxing organizations is very complex. In a few weeks it will become apparent who my next opponent will be. It is likely that the fight will take place in February or March. I will fight until I am lacking health or motivation. Right now it gives me great pleasure to enter the ring. I hope I will be able to tell when it is time to stop,” stated Wladimir.

Without taking away from the significance of the Povetkin fight, Klitschko did not have a fan pleasing performance. While this could also be part Alexander’s fault, it is a good way to lose fans as well as popularity. The heavyweight division is suffering, and without any cliffhanger fights, it could soon become irrelevant to the boxing community.

Deontay Wilder is the best new heavyweight fighter on the horizon, and some believe that his power and size would make all the difference in the world against Wladimir Klitschko. I too think that it would be a much more competitive fight than any other out there, but unfortunately Wilder is not yet ranked to be an official challenger to Klitschko.
